FERRARI 512 S

$35.00

The Ferrari 512 S driven by Arturo Merzario and Clay Regazzoni at the 1970 24 Hours of Le Mans. The Scuderia Ferrari-entered 512 failed to finish due to an accident early in the race. The accident in the rain took out several of Ferrari’s leading contenders; luckily the only injury was minor. After their victory at Sebring earlier in the season, Ferrari had designed the aerodynamic long-tail version (the coda lunga) for Le Mans. Eight of the long tail cars were prepared for the race, four were entered by Scuderia Ferrari, the other four were entered by Scuderia Filipinetti, the North American Racing Team (NART), and Ecurie Francorchamps. The NART 512 S was Ferrari’s highest finisher: in 4th place overall.
